Introduction
Hello, my name is Jess, I am 18 years old girl from Indonesia and I'm currently studying at UTS Insearch and planning to study visual communication as my major next year in UTS. I like to be a game designer or a photographer in the future but I choose to go with photographer and I also wanted to be a graphic designer too. I started to know photography at 6 grade and take it as a hobby, continued by learning Photoshop and Corel Draw started my journey as a creative.
Contexts that I explore
In this second project of design project, I decided to make a series of postcard since I'm going to study visual communication next year. I choose art deco and vintage postcard from the 19 era as my style for the postcard and used my own photographs for the images of the postcard. The theme I choose for this series of postcard is "Ecotourism Critique". The reason I choose Ecotourism Critique as my theme is because when I'm having holiday in several parts of the world, I saw many of the ecosystem around it was badly damaged as they were not there and people don't care about it. Also at some souvenir shops, I found that they were selling postcards with the scenery of a specific location. Postcard were used to communicate, similar to a letter. By making these postcard with ecotourism critique theme, the postcard itself has 2 message instead of 1. The size of the postcard were all in A5 size.
Process
For most of the process I mainly used photoshop and playing with the filter, transformation, effects, color and fonts. As for the final outcome I printed them on 200-300 GSM glossy paper.
Goals
In the future, I would like a better way to communicate using postcards, photographs, posters, and more. Also I want more people to care about our environment by finishing this project.
